GREEKTOWN — The Greektown neighborhood will celebrate its culture this Sunday at the Greek Independence Day Parade.

The parade, also known as the Hellenic Heritage Parade and Pan-Hellenic Parade, steps off at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Halsted and Randolph streets, and will continue south on Halsted to Van Buren Street.

The Sunday parade, free and open to the public, commemorates the 194th anniversary of Greek independence. 

The event is organized by the Federation of Hellenic American Organizations of Illinois, Greek Orthodox churches, Hellenic schools and other Greektown businesses.
