CHICAGO — New York City just released a report that finds that "America's hardest working city" is — surprise! — New York City.
But it also found that Chicago has the second longest average commute time of large cities at 5.25 hours per week. It was second only to NYC, which averaged 6.28 hours.
The study from NYC's comptroller analyzed U.S. Census data to compare the typical work week, including work hours and commute time, across the country's 30 largest cities.
Though NYC's rat race was found to be the rattiest race of them all, Chicago's ranked fifth, (workers average 42.36 hours per week) tied with Fort Worth, Texas, and falling behind New York City, San Francisco, Washington, D.C. and Houston.
These are some bragging rights we don't mind giving up.
