IRVING PARK — Inventors, crafters, musicians and lock pickers will all converge in May at the fourth annual Chicago Northside Mini Maker Faire.

The event has grown in popularity every year — 2,000 attended in 2014 — to the point that the host site, Schurz High School, can no longer run the faire on its own.

So whether you make stuff yourself or like being around people who do, you're invited to an information session, 7-8 p.m. Thursday in Schurz's Social Room, 3601 N. Milwaukee Ave.

Learn more about the maker movement and opportunities to get involved in the faire, either as a volunteer or a maker.
