CHICAGO — The two victims of a fatal shooting Sunday in Austin have been identified.

Carey Hollis, 28, and Andre Chatham, 23, both of the 1000 block of North Mayfield Avenue, were pronounced dead after the shooting Sunday, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

Hollis was pronounced dead at 7:27 p.m. and Chatham was pronounced dead at 7:28 p.m., according to the morgue.

Around 4:30 p.m., the two men were shot while driving in the 5800 block of West North Avenue, according to Officer Michael Sullivan, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The two were headed eastbound on North Avenue when someone in a passing vehicle opened fire, striking them. The car the men were driving in hit a parked car and the men were pronounced dead on the scene, Sullivan said.
