Garfield Park Robberies Lead to Warning from Police

CHICAGO — Police are warning Garfield Park residents about two robberies around the neighborhood in March.

During the robberies, a man walked up to his victims, told them he had a gun and robbed them, police said.

Both incidents occurred on Monday. The first occurred around 7:55 p.m. in the 3100 block of West Madison Street and the second occurred around 10:50 p.m. in the 3300 block of West Congress Parkway, police said.

Police described the thief as a black man between ages 20-35 and standing between 6-foot and 6-foot-4-inches tall. He weighed about 170 pounds, police said.
