IRVING PARK — In the grand tradition of the Blues Brothers, local musicians are coming to the rescue of the Irving Park Lutheran Church.

Holy Smokes, Glass Half Empty, Pin Drop Theater and FAITHCHICAGO are headlining a concert from 7-11 p.m. Saturday night to raise funds needed to save the church's deteriorating gym.

The 80-year-old gym hosts a number of community activities, including recreational sports and scout meetings.

In December, the church sold a two-flat adjacent to its property to raise seed capital for repairs but additional money is needed to finance the renovations.

According to the church, repairs will ensure the building is weather tight and will strengthen the gym's structural integrity.

Admission to the all ages show is $10 for adults and $5 for kids 10 and under. There will be a cash bar and pizza.

The concert will be held at the gym, 4057 N. Harding Ave.
