PORTAGE PARK — Like most of us, the members of the Duplicity Ensemble, a theater group, are thrilled winter seems to finally be releasing its death grip on Chicago.

To celebrate, the itinerant group of actors mashed up two of William Shakespeare's most beloved works, "A Midsummer Night's Dream" and "A Winter's Tale" to create the "ultimate antidote for cabin fever," said Nathan Wonder, the group's artistic director.

"A Midwinter Night's Tale" will be performed March 20-April 12 at the Filament Theatre Ensemble, 4041 N. Milwaukee Ave.

Performances will take place at 8 p.m. March 20, 21, 26, 27 and April 2-4, 6 and 9-11. Matinee shows will take place at 2 p.m. March 22, 29 and April 12. A student matinee will take place at 2 p.m. March 28.

The play centers on four young lovers who end up in mountain cabin while escaping a snowstorm. They struggle to figure out whether things can be set right after being spun around, Wonder said.

General admission tickets for the 1½-hour show are $20, with discounts available for students and groups.
