COOK COUNTY CRIMINAL COURTHOUSE — A suburban man pulled a loaded gun at The Shrine nightclub this weekend when a security guard asked him to leave, prosecutors said Monday.
Comfort Robinson, 38, was arrested about 4:40 a.m. Sunday at the South Loop bar, 2109 S. Wabash Ave., according to a police report.
Prosecutors alleged Robinson had been escorted outside after he became unruly early Sunday.
The suburban Broadview man was combative with a security guard and approached him with a gun, Assistant State's Attorney Erin Antonietti said in court Monday.
The 32-year-old guard was able to grab the gun, police and prosecutors said, and Robinson was subsequently arrested.
Police recovered a Ruger gun, magazine and 15 live rounds, court documents show. Robinson did not have a valid FOID card.
According to Antonietti, Robinson was previously convicted of seven separate felonies, including unlawful use of a weapon, drug possession and theft.
He was charged this week with aggravated assault and unlawful use of a weapon by a felon.
Cook County Judge Donald Panarese Jr. on Monday ordered Robinson held in lieu of $200,000 bail.
