THE LOOP — The next season of Broadway in Chicago won't put Baby in a corner.

"Dirty Dancing" will be the first of six musicals playing Downtown during Broadway in Chicago's 15th season, which kicks off in August. "Dirty Dancing" is, of course, a touring stage adaptation of the 1987 film starring the late Patrick Swayze.

"Dirty Dancing" will debut Aug. 18 at Cadillac Palace Theatre, 151 W. Randolph St., and run through Aug. 30. A Broadway in Chicago spokeswoman said show casting has not yet been determined.

Here are the other shows playing this season:

• "A Gentleman's Guide to Love & Murder," will run Sept. 29 to Oct. 11 at Bank of America Theatre, 18 W. Monroe St.

• "Gotta Dance," will run from Dec. 13 to Jan. 17, also at Bank of America Theatre.

• "Cabaret," will run Feb. 9 to Feb. 21, also at Bank of America Theatre.

• "If/Then" will run Feb. 23 to March 6 at Cadillac Palace Theatre.

• "Matilda The Musical" will run from March 22 to April 10 at Oriental Theatre, 24 W. Randolph St.

Created in 2000, Broadway in Chicago has hosted up to 1.7 million people annually enjoying touring musicals and plays. Visit the group's website for more information.
