CHICAGO — When Goose Island released its bourbon-barrel-aged brew on Black Friday, hundreds of people risked the cold and lined up for hours to take home 4-packs of the craft brew.

While the beer sold out in a matter of hours at the Lincoln Park Binny's Beverage Depot — the exclusive retailer of the beer on Goose Island's Bourbon County Day — Maria's Packaged Goods and Community Bar was busy hoarding the brew.

Over the last year, the beloved Bridgeport hangout at 960 W. 31st St. has been stockpiling some of the rarest and highly sought beers that have come their way in preparation for a beer bacchanal the bar has coined as its own version of "March Madness," Maria's said via a press release.

"Roll Out the Barrels" will begin Sunday by tapping a keg of Goose Island Bourbon County. After the brew runs out, Maria's will tap another barrel of rare brew until they've showcased their entire repertoire, the release said.
