UPTOWN — Celebrate the Year of the Goat this weekend on Argyle Street.

Uptown's annual Lunar New Year celebration kicks off at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Argyle Street and Sheridan Road with a short parade featuring dragon dancers and a performance by the Rickover High School marching band.

Those marching in the parade will head west on Argyle street until they hit Broadway. This year the parade will be shorter due to the cold weather, according to Ald. Harry Osterman's (48th) office.

From 1-3 p.m., head to 1124 W. Argyle Street for Chinese scroll-making demonstrations, lantern making, photo opportunities with Chinese New Year symbols and more.
