NOBLE SQUARE —  In June, the Bloomingdale Trail, a highly-anticipated 2.7-mile elevated trail — free of cars and open to joggers and cyclists — will open to the public.

On Tuesday night, fans of the trail can learn more about the area's history.

Set for 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Pulaski Park Field House, 1419 N. Blackhawk St., the "Rails to Tales" lecture will spotlight the immigrant history of the four communities connected by The 606: Wicker Park, Bucktown, Humboldt Park and Logan Square.

Historian Dominic Pacyga will explore the immigrant experience in the neighborhoods along the trail, while ABC7 food reporter, Steve Dolinsky, plans to discuss the role cuisine played as immigrants adjusted to their new homes.

The evening will conclude with a sampling of food from neighborhood eateries. Read more about the event; admission is free.
