PORTAGE PARK — The Luther North College Prep High School boys basketball team has won the Northeastern Athletic Conference championship.

With an 89-32 win over Illinois Math and Science Academy Feb. 7, the Wildcats remained undefeated in its conference with an overall record of 18-5, said Teri Casem, the school's events coordinator.

The Wildcats, coached by Jason Tucker and led by seniors Antonio Amoah and Stevon King, will play in the Illinois High School Association state tournament.

The last Luther North basketball team to win a basketball championship was the 1969 squad, Casem said.
