COOK COUNTY CRIMINAL COURTHOUSE — VonMar was convicted of felony theft Wednesday after he pleaded guilty to ransacking a Gold Coast 7-Eleven on New Year's Day.

The 24-year-old rapper and prankster, whose real name is Delvon Lamar Irving, was sentenced to two years probation and 60 days in county jail when he appeared before Cook County Judge Lawrence Flood on Wednesday.

Irving was ordered to pay nearly $1,000 in restitution and court fees.

The Alsip native was arrested Jan. 7 after he filmed himself trashing a 7-Eleven at 45 E. Chicago Ave. on New Year's Day. In the video, which has more than 5 million views, Irving and a pal taunt store clerks, jump on merchandise and run off with a coffee urn.

Irving said he aspired to be like the stars of "Jackass."

Police said it wasn't hard to catch up with the wannabe celebrity since he frequently filmed himself. During a bond hearing, Cook County Judge Adam Bourgeois chided Irving, saying "you wanted to be famous," and set bail at $250,000.

On Wednesday, Irving appeared in court on charges of felony theft and felony burglary. While he pleaded guilty to theft, the burglary charge was dropped.

Irving was credited with 36 days served in jail, since he's been in police custody since his Jan. 7 arrest.
