St. Demetrios Food Fest the Cure for the Winter Blues

LINCOLN SQUARE — Chicagoans, put down your shovels and pick up a fork at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church's Winter Food Fest.

The three-day event, scheduled for Friday-Sunday, will feature authentic Greek favorites like gyros, spinach pie and kabobs, all made by women from the community.

Admission is free and so is parking in the church lot and at adjacent Budlong Elementary. Parking at Swedish Covenant Hospital is $4.

The hours of the festival at 2727 W. Winona Ave. are: 5-8 p.m. Friday, noon-8 p.m. Saturday and noon-3 p.m. Sunday.
