CHICAGO — This weekend's snowfall is making Monday's morning commute a mess.

If you're driving in to work, it'd be a good idea to avoid side streets and alleys, as many are still impassable. Traffic on expressways and main streets is moving, albeit slowly.

The outbound Dan Ryan Expy. was experiencing major delays starting at the Jane Byrne Interchange, with the delays continuing for drivers going south on Interstate 57 to Interstate 80, according to Travelmidwest.com.

Portions of the Skyway and Interstate 94 were still reporting heavy snow and ice, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation.

The CTA is also experiencing longer-than-normal waits, but all train lines are running. The No. 52 California/Kedzie and No. 47 47th/California buses were rerouted early Monday, the CTA said.

All Metra trains are experiencing weather-related delays of 15-35 minutes, the rail service said.
