RIVER NORTH — American Junkie, we hardly knew ye.

Four Corners Tavern Group, which owns Schoolyard and Benchmark among other local haunts, recently acquired the bar at 15 W. Illinois St. on Friday, the Chicago-based chain said Friday.

American Junkie, which opened in 2013, will be closed as Four Corners determines a new name and concept for the bar, according to a statement.

Four Corners does promise "impeccable customer service, upscale bar fare, and a fun and welcoming atmosphere" when the bar reopens later this year, according to the statement.

Four Corners Director Ryan Indovina declined to comment beyond the prepared statement Friday morning.
