CHICAGO — There can only be one diva on top.

At least that's the idea behind "Dueling Divas: The Bitchfest Club," a production put on by LGBTQ theater company MidTangent Productions.

Billed as a parody of classic '80s teen movies, the show will be held at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Hydrate Nightclub, 3458 N. Halsted St.

In the show, Britney Bland, who is played by Erin Daly, is unpopular but has an incredible voice, according to a press release. Then she meets a popular girl, Amber Ann, played by Katerina Papadatos, and they face off at the local talent show. Drag queens make an appearance, too.

The show was written by Nicholas Reinhart and Kyle Blair. Reinhart is also the director.

It's the latest from a theater company that put on "Snow White and the Seven Drag Queens," an ongoing show that sold out in April, May and June, according to its website.

Tickets are available for $20 and can be bought on MidTangent's website.
