RIVER NORTH — What a lovely day to hang outside.

Two men at the Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile, 540 N. Michigan Ave., were seen hanging from the south rooftop of the 46-story hotel Wednesday afternoon.

Travis Schoening, who works at a nearby office tower at 444 N. Michigan Ave., shot several photos of the daredevils for the few minutes they pulled the stunt. The two men didn't appear to be in danger, Schoening said, but merely showing off as they snapped their own pictures.

"A guy across the hall saw it; I just happen to have a camera," Schoening said. "We were all thinking 'Oh my God that’s crazy.'"

Dave Matthews chatted with the man who witnessed the thrill seekers:

Chicago police and Marriott security were unaware of the situation after being asked by DNAinfo.

Schoening said he was "a little nervous" about the hotel-hangers, recalling a man who fell to his death at the InterContinental Hotel, 505 N. Michigan Ave., in 2012.

"This is just going to give them what they want, exposure, but this trend needs to stop!" Schoening tweeted Wednesday afternoon.
