BRIDGEPORT — A local fitness studio known for its bare-bones kettlebell training is introducing the more serene practice of yoga to its exercise lineup.

The first yoga session at Rockfit, located in the basement of the Bridgeport Art Center at 1200 W. 35th. takes place at noon Sunday.

"From the get-go I wanted to include yoga classes. Kettlebells are about strength training and it beats up your body. Yoga helps with mobility and recovery and the the two complement each other very well," said Joel "Rock" Cox, the personal trainer and ex-pro rugby player who opened his gym last year.

Led by Suzi Kuznetzow, Sunday's inaugural session is free.

After that, the yoga classes will be rolled into the cost of the gym's monthly membership, which starts at $120 per month.
