HYDE PARK — The Logan Center for the Arts on Wednesday will show a film about the darkness that lurks among the rolling hills of Tuscany, Italy.

Esther Podemski will show her film “The Peasant and the Priest” at 7 p.m. at the Logan Center, 915 E. 60th St.

Podemski’s movie follows two men in their 80s trying to continue their traditions amidst the rise of corporate agriculture and a rising tide of human trafficking in the Italian country side.

Rebecca West, a professor in the Department of Cinema and Media Studies at the University of Chicago, will lead a discussion with Podemski after the screening.
