ROSCOE VILLAGE — Roscoe Villagers are normally a tight-knit group of people, but it's every neighbor for himself as voting comes down to the wire in the community's annual holiday decorating contest.

The battle pits pine roping against inflatable Santas and luminescent candy canes versus strings of white lights — and you're the judge of which display earns the best decked crown.

Winners will be awarded in both the residential and business categories, along with $150 for first place, $100 for second and $50 for third.

Give Me Some Sugar, 2205 W. Belmont Ave., is currently running away with the business title, while a number of homeowners are still duking it out on the residential side.

The polls are open until Jan. 11. People can vote for as many entries as they like, but only once for any individual entrant.
