CHICAGO — A 1-year-old girl died after an accidental drowning at her Englewood home, authorities said.
Police were called to a home in the 6600 block of South Aberdeen Street at 9:20 p.m. Wednesday and found an unresponsive baby.
Alonah Smith was pronounced dead about 40 minutes later at the scene, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
Examiners ruled the death an accident. Police are continuing an investigation.
