CHICAGO — Police said a man tried to rob and sexually assault a woman in Logan Square Wednesday morning.
The woman was walking in the 2700 block of North Whipple Street about 8:15 a.m. Wednesday when a man grabbed her from behind and forced her into a gangway, police said.
He struck her in the face and head with a pistol, and demanded money. When she said she had none, the man ordered her to take off her pants and tried to sexually assault her, police said. He eventually released her.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic man in his mid- to late-20s, standing 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-7, weighing 175 to 200 pounds. He has black hair and stubble. He wore a black-and-white knit cap, a blue hooded jacket that buttoned in the front with grey sleeves, and blue jeans.
