ROGERS PARK — The program that offered free parking at Mision Cristiana Elim to Morse Avenue shoppers will conclude at the end of the month, the Rogers Park Business Alliance announced.
The lot, at 1615 W. Morse Ave., had been open to the public since 2011 when the church made an agreement with the business alliance and the Clark/Morse/Glenwood Special Service Area.
Sandi Price, the business alliance's executive director, said the city changed its rules regarding what SSA tax money can be used for.
"The city no longer allows us to offer any parking incentives, so our program will be ending" on Dec. 30, she said in an email.
A spokesman with the city's Department of Planning and Development could not be immediately reached for comment.
