WEST LOOP — West Loop families will mark the beginning of Hanukkah with a community ceremony Tuesday night.

The fourth annual Menorah lighting ceremony is planned at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Mary Bartelme Park, 115 S. Sangamon St.

Before the ceremony, at 5 p.m., Merit School of Music will welcome families for crafts, activities and treats in Room 230 of the school at 38 S. Peoria St., just north of the park.

At the school, children can learn how to make a Dreidel out of clay, craft a Menorah, create a Hanukkah decoration and decorate doughnuts.

The Menorah lighting is sponsored by the Mary Bartelme Park Advisory Council.
