WEST ROGERS PARK — Police warned business owners Thursday After two businesses were burglarized overnight this month.
Police said the burglars entered the businesses after closing hours by breaking the front window or by peeling away sheet-metal roofing. The offenders also tried unsuccessfully to remove an ATM at one of the businesses.
The first occurred about 4 a.m. Dec. 5 in the 2800 block of West Devon Avenue. The offender was described as a man about 5 feet 6 inches tall, wearing a dark green hooded sweatshirt, a Chicago Bulls jacket, blue jeans and white gloves.
The second occurred between 11:30 p.m. and 6:20 a.m. Dec. 6-7 in the 2700 block of West Pratt Boulevard. The offender was described as a man 5 feet 9 inches tall and 175 pounds with a medium build. He was wearing a white or tan jacket over a green hooded sweatshirt, a black mask covering his face, white gloves, dark-colored jeans and red Converse All-Star canvass gym shoes.
