LINCOLN SQUARE — Scotland sees fewer than eight hours of daylight in December — so these are a people who know something about the winter blahs.

Hence Scotch.

Fountainhead, 1970 W. Montrose Ave., will be offering a tasting of eight Scotch whiskies Tuesday as one way to take the chill off winter.

The bar is expected to serve varieties from Bunnahabhain distillery (try pronouncing that before you've had a few drinks), Tobermory and a new release from Black Bottle.

Tickets for the event, which can be purchased online, are $30 and include light bites in addition to the tasting.
