CHICAGO — A mall fire in a restroom forced crowds to evacuate the Shedd Aquarium Saturday. The aquarium announced it would stay closed the remainder of the day.
No injuries were reported and the damage was minimal, the Shedd said. None of the animals were injured.
Crowds were ordered to evacuate popular attraction around 3 p.m.
Guests were allowed back inside to retrieve their belongings, and those with wristbands and tickets will be allowed to redeem them in the future, the Shedd said.
