Things You Can Do in Lincoln Park and Old Town This Weekend

Friday

Spanish Through Nature at Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, 2430 N. Cannon Drive, 10-11 a.m.

This experimental interactive class will teach children ages 1-4 Spanish vocabulary through song, movement and laughter. The class, which is presented in partnership with Instituto Cervantes, costs $100 for a seven-week session for museum members and $140 for non-members. A single class is just $20.

Peppermint Bash at Zella, 1983 N. Clybourn Ave., 6-9 p.m.

Join the Lincoln Park Young Professionals for the eighth annual Peppermint Bash. Tickets to the 21-and-over party is $20.

Saturday

Butterfly Haven Yoga at Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, 2430 N. Cannon Drive, 8:30-9:45 a.m.

Head to the Judy Istock Butterfly Haven for a rejuvenating yoga class. Mats are not provided and you must register to participate. The class cost $15.

Tribute to Music at Lincoln Hall, 2424 N. Lincoln Ave., 9 p.m.

The School of Rock Hinsdale presents a tribute to The Rolling Stones, Bob Marley & the Wailers, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, AC/DC and Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band. Tickets to the all-ages show are $10 and free to children under the age of 10.

Sunday

Drop by Family Fun at Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, 2430 N. Cannon Drive, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

Each month the Nature Museum highlights a nature related topic to explore through experiments, crafts and activities. December's topic is recording nature. Visitors of all ages can learn to techniques for observing nature. The event is free with museum admission.
