HYDE PARK — Holiday shoppers looking for unique gifts will have a chance to peruse the jewelry, textiles and woodworking by local artisans during Saturday’s annual Crafts Open House.
Tony and Susan Kossiakoff will open their Kenwood home, the Hutchins House at 4810 S. Ellis Ave., from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. to show work from eight artisans.
The event is now in its 43rd year and this year will offer items from bookbinder Louise Yeung, knitter Debra Dancy and Patrick McDaniel, a woodworker from Michigan.
The open house will also feature artisans well known in Hyde Park, including Marianne Hammett, a founding member of the former Artisans 21 gallery who makes painted silks and glass jewelry.
Gifts start at $20.
