IRVING PARK — Say what you will about winter, but the season has its benefits.

Like ice skating, which in turn offers up the perfect excuse to warm yourself with a hot cocoa or toddy.

Both forms of entertainment can be found at St. Viator's Winterfest, Friday through Sunday, 4140 W. Addison St.

In addition to an outdoor rink and cocktail and hot chocolate bars, the fest also boasts a Mistletoe Market stocked with artisan crafts; the Snowflake Cafe, serving up dinner on Friday, and breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday and Sunday; photos with Santa; caroling; and Christmas tree sales.

Hours for the fest are 4-10 p.m., Friday; 9 a.m. - 10 p.m., Saturday; and 9 a.m. - 6 p.m., Sunday. The hot chocolate and cocktail bars are open daily, as are the craft market and tree/wreath/garland sales.
