EDGEWATER — Got used cooking oil after deep-frying your Thanksgiving turkey? If so, Loyola University wants it.
Loyola's biodiesel lab is hosting its annual cooking oil collection drive at its Institute of Environment Sustainability.
Residents can drop off containers of used cooking oil from 7 a.m.-8 p.m. daily through Friday at 6349 N. Kenmore Ave.
The oil will be converted into biodiesel, which is used to run shuttle buses between the university's campuses.
Loyola’s student-run biodiesel enterprise is the first and only school operation licensed to sell biodiesel in the United States, according to the university.
