NORTH CENTER — Goose Island may not be the buzziest of Chicago's breweries anymore but it still knows how to grab the attention of the city's beer drinkers.

The annual Black Friday release of its Bourbon County Stout variants routinely attracts the sort of lines typically reserved for the closing of beloved hot dog stands, with fans queuing up outside Binny's in Lincoln Park as early as midnight — a full nine hours before the store opens — to nab one of the coveted brews before they sell out.

For those who may have missed or skipped their chance on Friday for reasons both legitimate (had to work) and lame (value their beauty sleep), all is not lost.

On Sunday, Bottles & Cans, 4109 N. Lincoln Ave., will start handing out free raffle tickets at 11 a.m., drawing winners at noon for the right to purchase one of the Bourbon County brews.

According to Bottles & Cans co-owner Carly Katz, there will be anywhere from 35 to 60 winners, depending on the shop's allocation from Goose Island.

If your number isn't pulled from the proverbial hat, Bottles & Cans is offering free tastings of the 2014 variants, along with some vintage Bourbon County brews, as a consolation prize.
