LOGAN SQUARE — Bidding opened Tuesday for a silent online auction in support of community events and preservation of one busy Logan Square park.

The Unity Park Advisory Council is launching its first silent auction for Logan Square's Party for the Park fundraiser, featuring a list of least 20 items on sale until Dec. 5 at noon.

That list mostly includes unique Logan Square and Avondale items — a mix of neighborhood gifts for the discerning local:

Bidders can log in online to deal on the fundraiser items. There will also be a computer terminal set up for guests to weigh in at the Party for the Park Thursday, Dec. 4 from 6 to 10 p.m. at Weegee's, 3659 W. Armitage Ave.

Funds raised through the silent auction and Party for the Park go support community events like the recent 2014 PumpkinFest where hundreds of Logan Square kids of all ages reveled in Halloween festivities.
