Police Issue Warning After Spate of Daytime Burglaries on Northwest Side

PORTAGE PARK — Five Northwest Side homes have been burglarized in recent weeks by criminals who broke in during the daytime and early evening, police warned.

In most of the incidents, the burglars entered the homes through doors and windows and took cash, electronics and jewelery, police said this week.

The incidents happened in the:

• 5200 block of West Belmont Avenue between 11:30 p.m. and 8 a.m. Oct. 31
• 4800 block of West School Street between 7:45 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Nov. 4
• 5300 block of West Patterson Avenue at 5 p.m. Nov. 6
• 4900 block of West Eddy Street at 11:10 a.m. Nov. 17
• 4900 block of West Roscoe Street between 7 a.m. and 2:55 p.m.
