Three Choirs to Join Up To Perform Handel's 'Messiah' at Rockefeller Chapel

HYDE PARK — Three choirs will come together for a performance of Handel’s “Messiah” on Dec. 5 at Rockefeller Chapel.

The Motet Choir, Chicago Men's a Cappella and members of the University of Chicago choral ensemble will perform the George Frideric Handel oratorio popularly known for it’s hallelujah chorus at the chapel, 5850 S. Woodlawn Ave.

The performance will feature soprano Kimberly Jones, alto Hyounsoo Sohn, tenor Matthew Dean and bass Andrew Schultze conducted by James Kallembach.

A second matinee performance will be held at 3 p.m. Dec. 7.

Tickets are available for $20 on ticketsweb.uchicago.edu. Special seating is available on the altar for $45, in choir pews for $40 and in the front nave for $30.

The performance is approximately two hours with a 20-minute intermission.
