HYDE PARK — The University of Chicago Law School will host a night with the filmmakers who chronicled the grassroots efforts to rewrite Iceland’s constitution after the financial crisis.

Director Eileen Jerrett will answer questions about “Blueberry Soup” after a 12:15 p.m. screening Tuesday at the Law School, 1111 E. 60th St.

Jerrett’s film follows the hyper-public process of rewriting the country’s constitution after the market crashes of 2008 by a public that included no bankers or politicians.

“The constitutional committee used crowdsourcing and an online draft throughout the writing process to encourage feedback from the Icelandic and international community,” Jerrett writes in her description of the film. “The council included teachers, pastors, radio hosts, lawyers, artists, farmers and activists to ensure a wide array of voices within the Icelandic community.”

The film follows the three months that it took the committee to rewrite the constitution.

The event is free and open to the public.
