Things You Can Do in Lincoln Park and Old Town This Weekend

Friday

Bobby Slayton at Zanies, 1548 N. Wells St., 8:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.

Often referred to as the Pitbull of Comedy, Bobby Slayton has been performing his energetic bits for more than 20 years. Tickets are $25 with the minimum purchase of two food or drink items.

Ian Hunter and the Rant Band at Park West, 322 W. Armitage Ave., 7:30 p.m.

The 75-year-old English songwriter hits the stage with his Rant Band after a performance by Freedy Johnston. Tickets to the 18-and-older show are $35.

Saturday

Learn, Explore and Play at Lincoln Park Zoo, 2001 N. Clark St., 9:30-10:30 a.m.

The zoo has created an immersive playground for your young one to connect with nature through playtime. The sensory-rich play place is immersive for young ones and adults by allowing children to meet the animals, draw, build and make music on your own schedule. The nine-week session on Thursdays and Saturdays is $126, $108 for zoo members. The class is for children ages 2-3 accompanied by an adult.

Dark Passages Tour at Chicago History Museum, 1601 N Clark St., 1-5 p.m.

Crime Historian Richard Lindberg takes you up close and personal with some of the darkest corners in Chicago crime history. The tour stops at two death corners and the infamous cesspool known as Bubbly Creek. Tickets for the tour are $55, $45 for museum members, and must be bought in advance.

Sunday

Trentemoller at Park West, 322 W. Armitage Ave., 9 p.m.

Trentemoller creates its special brand of sonic soundscapes with a five-piece band of drums, guitars, bass and keyboard. Tickets to the 18-and-older show are $25.

The Loop "L" Tour at Chicago History Museum, 1601 N. Clark St., 1- 3:30 p.m.

The Chicago "L" Tour is lead by Greg Borzo, author of "The Chicago L." It includes amazing photo opportunities with commentary on stations and buildings along the route. Bring your comfiest walking shoes — this tour includes about 1.5 miles in walking. The tour cost $20 for museum members, $25 for non-members.
