CHICAGO — High-wire walker Nik Wallenda, whose stroll 600 feet above the Chicago River drew tens of thousands of fans to Downtown and many more to their televisions, has his next event scheduled:

He's reportedly going to walk a wire at a re-opening of a Ford dealership in Florida.

One hundred feet up.

The "King of the High Wire" will walk an estimated 200 yards over the south end of the Sarasota facility, ending in a used car lot, according to the Bradenton Herald.

The event is scheduled for Dec. 6 and Matt Buchanan of Sarasota Ford says he's expecting thousands to attend. Wallenda drives a Ford, added Buchanan.

Wallenda spent several weeks before the Chicago event practicing in a park in Sarasota. His family has long lived in the area and the community has supported Wallenda and his family with meals, the paper said.

"They believe in me and I believe in them," Wallenda said of Sarasota.

"He loves trucks and we love what he is doing and love being a part of what he is doing," Buchanan told the paper. "He's an awesome person. We get behind people that make our community better."

On July 18, 2015, Wallenda reportedly plans to walk over Tallulah Gorge in Georgia, crossing a 1,000-foot cavern. His great grandfather, Karl, walked over the same gorge 45 years ago.
