CHICAGO — A 26-year-old man was fatally shot early Monday in Galewood.

Around 12:15 a.m., the 26-year-old man was in an alley with friends in the 2100 block of North Merrimac Road when a man walked up to the group and yelled gang slogans, said Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The man then shot the 26-year-old in his face. He was taken to Loyola Hospital in serious condition and was later pronounced dead, Pacheco said.
