PORTAGE PARK — Performances designed to illuminate the toll depression can take on families will take place at the Filament Theatre in December, producers said.

Ravenswood-based Erasing the Distance will perform "Tell Me What You Remember," which tells the true story of one family’s battle with depression. The family's journey illustrates how depression can impact those who suffer, as well as those who love them, producers said.

The performances are the culmination of Erasing the Distance's year-long Depression in Families Project, led by the creative team of producer Brighid O’Shaughnessy, director Nikki Zaleski and adapter Gedalya Chinn.

Each performance will be followed by a question-and-answer session moderated by O’Shaughnessy and Turning Point Behavioral Health Care Center CEO Ann Fisher Raney, Erasing the Distance's clinical partner.

Performances will take place at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 1, Dec. 2, Dec. 8, Dec. 9, Dec. 15 and Dec. 16 at Filament Theatre, 4041 N. Milwaukee Ave.

Tickets, which include the post-show conversation and material from Turning Point about depression in families, are $15 for students or seniors, $20 in advance and $25 at the door.
