CHICAGO — A bank robber wanted in more than a dozen robberies in a seven-month period starting in late 2012 is believed to be back at it again in the area, the FBI said.

A $17,500 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the man law enforcement is calling the "Bully Bandit."

The suspect, known for a loud threatening manner during robberies that earned him his nickname, is believed by authorities to have been involved in three recent robberies on the North and Northwest sides.

The suspect, described as a Hispanic man in his 30s, has screamed at bank employees and customers and pushed people out of the way to reach tellers. In at least one heist, the robber displayed a gun but no injuries have been reported, the FBI said.

The three recent bank heist took place in the following locations:

• On Oct. 11 at North Community Bank, 1600 block of W. North Ave. in Bucktown.

• On Oct. 28 at Chase Bank, 6612 W. North Ave. in Galewood.

• On Nov. 5 at Chase Bank, 1959 W. Division St. in Ukrainian Village.

The bandit usually covers his face with a scarf, article of clothing or mask. In the most recent robbery, witnesses noticed pink paint smudges on his hands and sweatshirt, the FBI said.

The suspect is about 5'7" with a medium build, with black hair, brown eyes, the FBI said. He appears to have four gold front lower teeth, authorities said in announcing the cash award for information leading to the arrest of the suspect. Anyone with information about the bandit should contact the FBI at (312) 421-6700.

In 2012 and 2013, he robbed a number of banks on the North Side and in west suburban Berwyn and Riverside, the FBI said.
