LINCOLN PARK — Flirty Girl Fitness is creating a mob of zombies specifically trained with one task: to move like Michael Jackson.
The fitness studio, outfitted with a bar and nail salon, is hosting a series of classes Halloween night to teach guests the moves of the classic "Thriller" video.
The classes are part of a preparty event at the studio, 2215 N. Halsted St., which will feature makeup artists and nail technicians to transform guests into the zombies from "Thriller."
Fog machines will fill the disco-lit dance studios to set the mood during the classes.
Flirty Girl expects about 300 people to attend the preparty.
"This year we thought, 'Let's make something a lot bigger and let's invite the boys in to do it with us and let's do a performance somewhere,'" said Kerry Knee, co-founder of Flirty Girl Fitness.
Guests can either show up decked out in Zombie gear, or have the staff at Flirty Girl do the work.
Once everyone has the moves down pat, the party is moving to the I|O Urban Roofscape on the fourth floor of The Godfrey Hotel, 127 W. Huron St., where partiers will break into a flash mob dance to "Thriller" at 10:31 p.m. on the dot and again at midnight.
Flirty Girl's instructors have already taught more than 20 members of the staff at The Godfrey the moves.
"When that time comes, everyone behind the bar is going to go into zombie mode," Knee said.
The hourlong "Thriller" classes during the preparty are $15 per person and are scheduled for 6, 7 and 8 p.m.
Both 8 p.m. classes have already sold out, with 30 people in each class.
Flirty Girl guests will be able to bypass the line and not pay the cover at The Godfrey after the pre-party at the fitness studio.
