LINCOLN PARK — Zanie's comedy club on Monday will host Punchline Panic, which the club bills as "an experiment in standup comedy."

The show at Zanies, 1548 N. Wells St., starts at 8:30 p.m.

Eight of Chicago's best comedians get 90 minutes to write new material about a common theme in the monthly contest hosted by Emily Galati and Nate Weatherup. Tickets to see the show are $10 with the minimum purchase of two food or drink items.

"It will test the comic's writing ability, improvisation skills, and the simple necessity to fill their damn time," Zanies' website says. "Come support stand up comedy at its scariest: when it's brand new.
