ENGLEWOOD — The owner of a hair-care salon has launched a new line of hair-care products, and is holding a party to celebrate.
Demetria Hayden, owner of Altogether Lovely, 1841 W. 63rd St., launched a line of hair-care products, which includes conditioning hair cleanser, deep conditioner, hair and scalp cream and shine spray.
She is holding a party from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday at her salon. The party will include food, music and giveaways.
The 48-year-old wife of Rev. Wesley Hayden, pastor of the Love Unlimited Christian Ministries Center in Englewood, said she got the idea to start a hair-care line 16 years ago when she attended a workshop and met a chemist.
"It took this long for me to actually act on this passion I have had for years," she said. "I have kept in touch with the chemist all this time and after much prayer I decided to move forward with it."
For now Hayden said products will be sold online and at her salon, "but I am working on having my products in retail stores soon."
Last year, Hayden said she wanted to open a hair-braiding school, but so far those plans have not come to fruition.
