PORTAGE PARK — Filament Theatre Ensemble is hoping to raise some money with a little help from its friends.

A Beatles-themed tribute concert will take place after the final performance of "The Monster in the Hall" at 5:30 p.m. Sunday at Filament's Six Corners home, 4041 N. Milwaukee Ave.

"After the performance, we'll change into comfy clothes and it'll be a great hangout," Filament Theatre Ensemble Outreach Manager Jackie Intres said.

Artists who have performed as part of the theater's concert series — including Ralph Covert, Paul Coady and Kathy Greenholdt — will bring the music of John, Paul, George and Ringo to life as part of the concert. The ensemble holds a similar fundraiser in the spring to honor Bob Dylan's birthday, Intres said.

Heather Cherone discusses Filament's role in the NW-side art community before a show earlier this season:

Beer, wine, pop and appetizers will be served.

Tickets for the fundraiser are $20 and are available online.

"The Monster in the Hall" explores family and community through 1960s pop music, video games and a high-speed motorcycle chase.

Tickets for the play are $14-$20 and are available at the group's website, filamenttheatre.org or at 773-270-1660.
