The Female Funnies at Zanies, 1548 N. Wells St., 8:30 p.m.

A ladies night of laughs hosted by Chicago's "Latin Diva of Comedy" Patti Vasquez will feature 5-10 of Chicago's funniest female comics. Tickets are $10 with the minimum purchase of two food items or beverages.

WBEZ Meet Up at Lincoln Hall, 2424 N. Lincoln Ave., 7 p.m.

WBEZ members are invited to the live meet up, "Democracy's Dark Arts" to discuss the dark arts of political campaigning. Talk with WBEZ Political reporter Alex Keefe to discuss how political ad campaigns influence the voting process. You must be 21 or older to attend.

"Fishing Without Nets" at Facets Cinematheque, 1517 W. Fullerton Ave., screenings at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m.

Join Director Cutter Hordierne in East Africa with a cast of Somali non-actors for a hijacking drama that mixes action and art. The 1-hour and 49-minute minute film was nominated for the Directing Award in the U.S. Dramatic Competition at Sundance Film Festival. Tickets are $9.
