Pumpkin Painting, Dog Costume Contest, Haunted House Highlight 'Spooky Day'

LINCOLN PARK — The Saturday before Halloween in Lincoln Park is packed with events for kids ranging from doggie costume contests to a free haunted house.

Four neighborhood organizations, The Green City Market, Hotel Lincoln, Lincoln Park Zoo and Clark Street in Lincoln Park are teaming up to provide a day full of events Oct. 25.

The fun kicks off at 8 a.m. at the Green City Market when Club Sprouts opens and ends with a Spooktacular costume contest late in the afternoon.

Schedule of Events:

Green City Market - Family Halloween Party
Clark St. & Lincoln Ave.
8:00 a.m. — Club Sprouts opens. Paint a pumpkin and learn to make a fun and healthy Halloween themed snack.
10:00 a.m. —  Performance by the famous Miss Jamie
11:00 a.m. — Costume Parade and Contest! Top 3 costumes win special prizes.

Hotel Lincoln - BYOP (Bring Your Own Pumpkin) Party
1816 N. Clark St.
9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. — Bring your own pumpkin to the Clark Room on the second floor (pumpkins are available for purchase across Clark Street at the Green City Market). The hotel will supply materials for decorating and carving pumpkins, hot cider, pumpkin cupcakes, and will be screening "It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown."
9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. — Trick-or-treating on the first Floor of the hotel lobby
11:30 a.m. - Doggie costume contest

Lincoln Park Zoo - Spooky Zoo Spectacular
2001 N. Clark (Parking at Cannon Drive & Fullerton)
11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. — Family entertainment on the main stage; toddler activities in Regenstein Center for African Apes
12:00 – 2:00 p.m. — Haunted House, educational arts and crafts in the Kovler Lion House, and trick-or-treating

Clark Street in Lincoln Park - Spooktacular and Scarecrows on Parade
Clark Street from Armitage to Diversey, south side of Diversey
1:00 – 5:00 p.m. — Halloween Headquarters (2342 N Clark)- activities, games, and refreshments
1:00 – 5:00 p.m. — Trick-or-treating, magic, and roaming entertainment
1:30 – 4:00 p.m. — Live theatrical entertainment and photo session presented by Nothing Without A Company
3:00 – 5:00 p.m. — Spooktacular costume contest (2558 N Clark)

Guests are encouraged to take public transportation.
