BRIDGEPORT — The Brother David Darst Center and First Lutheran Church of the Trinity are inviting residents to a summit to discuss the "growing diversity of religion in our community."
The event takes place 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Darst Center, 2834 S. Normal Ave. It's free and is expected to last about 1½ hours.
Featuring a panel of four Bridgeport residents — members of the Catholic, Jewish, Lutheran and Sikh faiths — the forum is billed as a chance to share stories from friends and neighbors about the role of faith in local life.
"It's a different forum than other interfaith gatherings. We have people here that aren't experts in religion. It's everyday, regular people going to work and living in Bridgeport who may not be following their faith perfectly, but how faith effects their everyday lives," said Jotti Aulakh, a spokeswoman for the Darst Center.
